Just for Today

Today I looked outside and for a moment I was simply amazed at how beautiful today really was.  Sure Atticus woke up half a dozen times last night and then woke up and was grinding his teeth in my ear this morning.  Sure Nate kept coming to ask me the same question he knows the answer to while I was working.  However, no matter how many times I tell Nate that he came play with his Skylanders in his room or tell Atti his teeth will fall out from all the grinding they are my beautiful children that I was blessed with.  This is the beautiful day that I am blessed to live in.  Sometimes bad things happen, we get angry, hurt, or the day just sucks, it is still our today and tomorrow will still be a new day, unlike Groundhog Day we are not cursed to relive the same day repeatedly.  So I will live just for today.

I have always felt lucky to have the ability to leave the past behind me where it belongs.  I can easily forget things that were bad and never recollect those memories again.  Sometimes I have wished for Dumbledore's Pensive so that I could remove excess thoughts from my mind but then I remember I already have the ability to rid myself of them and do not wish for the ability to reevaluate them.  I cannot live in the past it is already gone and no longer belongs to me so I will just live for today.

I have so much ambition and so many things I want to do that I cannot even decide.  Many people come to two paths in life and they make a choice on which to take for far too many times I have stood at that fork and wondered what would be the best in 10, 20, or even 30 years.  Too many times I have made the wrong choice based on others thoughts.  I have all these college credits (and student loans) that are completely useless because of it.  Now is the time when I make choices for myself and for my family without letting others cause me to doubt them. So I will live just for today.

Happy Birthday to ME!

What to do for your own birthday when turning 26...  read a book.  May sound lame but it is something special when your a busy mom who never has time to read an article from a magazine let alone an entire book.  Sure many people would get a baby sitter and go do something "fun" but as I read and snuggled with the boys, made them lunch, and even played with the little stinkbugs it was the best birthday ever!

I also went out to dinner with my family and had a wonderful time enjoying a meal with them.  Atticus provided many laughs with the backwards and hilarious way he eats broccoli.  Annashod and Naate enjoyed drawing pictures back and forth trying to guess what the other had made.  My parents and I had great conversation and the food was delicious!

Overall I would say 25 was a pretty good age but I cannot wait to see what 26 brings!

Silly Mayans

Well guess I have survived the end once again I was hoping something major would happen.  How cool would it have been if Atlantis came back?  Jimmy Hoffa found?  We learned the secret to life... oh the amazing things that could have happened today are endless!  However, I just worked and loved on two little boys.

We also decorated some cookies with the God Mama's family and Atti couldn't resist devouring the one he decorated making a mess.  Nate got messy too but his frosting removal skills are slightly more advanced.

Big day for Atti

I cannot believe how time flies.  It wasn't that long ago that I was potty training Nate.  He was great at going #2 in the toilet right away but took a couple days to get the pee thing down.  I have pictures of him sitting on the toilet reading a book some where and he still likes to take his time on the "throne" now and again.

Today Atti woke up with a dry diaper so I figured "what the hey I will let him sit on the toilet and get used to it see what happens."

I expected him to look at me like "Mom you are crazy, I am 50 feet in the air, I don't like this... GET ME OUTT OF HERE!!!"  Instead I got a cool collected little baby who looked like he had been using the toilet all his life.

And he PEED!!!

I cannot believe that at just 10 months my little boy used the toilet.  I know that it will probably be awhile before he is fully trained being as he cannot walk or talk but still feels like the beginning of the end.  The possibility of not changing diapers anymore or pulling a freshly washed load out of the dryer are a little depressing.  My little boy is growing quick.

10 Months

I'm a few days late but I thought now when I have just put the boys to bed would be a good time to say it.

HAPPY 10 MONTHS

It really is not fair how fast you are growing.
You love to "crawl" it is more like flopping forward and using you feet to kick off but you are super fast when you want so I must give you credit.
You have started eating everything under the sun (including my chinese food.)  You love blowing raspberries, even more when big brother joins in the fun.
You are just starting to clap and it is the sweetest thing I have seen in a very long time.
You bring so much joy and laughter into the life of everyone you scowl at in your judgmental way.
You remind me daily why I love being your mom as you inspire and amaze me.
As you grow I hope you never stop being the ham that I know and love.  Keep making those cheesy faces that I cannot resist. Also know to never let anyone make you feel bad about yourself. You are an amazing person already and I can't wait to see the adult you become.

Love Mom

Hello Tree

It is that time of year again Christmas yay!  Finally Thanksgiving is over and I was able to put my tree up without having to hear about skipping Thanksgiving as always Big Kid was more than eager to help with the decorating.

He was so helpful in fact that I let him put all the decorations on.  Who cares that the top 2 feet of the tree are completely bare?  NOT ME!  Thinking back to this time last year I had just taken him out of daycare and was getting ready for Little's arrival now Little is 10 months old and attempting to eat the tree.

After we finished decorating I thought I would try to take a cute picture of the boys with the tree...

Yeah I think my boys had other ideas!

I really do not like this tree the shape is just strange to me maybe next year I will get a real one... or a better shaped fake one.

Merry Christmas!

Welcome

Just wanted to take a moment to say welcome to my new blog.  This is my 3rd attempt at starting a interesting blog... 3rd time is a charm right?  My first two are pretty lame so I shouldn't have to try too hard to do better.

I am a single mother to two beautiful boys Atticus and Nathaniel.  They are my whole world and I cannot imagine my life without them.  We love to do arts and crafts together and go on adventures as they teach me how to be a better mom.

Nathaniel is 4 and full of energy.  He easily drives me insane bouncing off the walls but he doesn't mean too.  He is also one of the most loving children I have ever met and makes my heart melt on a daily basis into a big puddle of mommy pride.

Atticus is ten months old and has 12 teeth (4 are brand new.)  He is very laid back and also judgmental, like if Simon Cowell were a 10 month old.  He makes me laugh with his cheesy smile and sweet little clap, crawl, talk, okay I admit everything he does is adorable.

So that is all about us hope this one comes out better than the other two...   TBC
